Update:

We already knew Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce is a huge golf fan - he played in The Match VIII alongside Patrick Mahomes, taking on NBA superstars Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. But it turns out his brother, Jason Kelce, might be taking things to the next level.

The recently retired Philadelphia Eagles center has revealed that he’s now part owner of a golf course in New York’s Catskill Mountains, and he didn’t go in on the deal alone.

In a new interview on Jake Stoutland’s golf YouTube channel, Jason shared that he invested in the course alongside actor Bill Murray, golf writer Tom Coyne, and entrepreneur Mike Madden, son of NFL legend John Madden.

How Kelce and Murray come together?

Jason explained that Coyne, editor of The Golfer’s Journal and a longtime friend of Murray, was the connector.

“Tom and I played golf and did a podcast that he has. And we just kind of got to know each other through that,” Kelce said.

I’ve been getting more involved with golf. I’m doing some stuff with my nonprofit, Underdog… And then he all of a sudden tells me, ‘Hey, do you want to go play a hoopie with Bill Murray?’ I’m like, ‘Fuck yeah, I want to go play a hoopie with Bill Murray.’”

That round of golf turned into a bigger conversation.

“It sounded like this nine-hole course up in the Catskills in Sullivan County was going to be pretty killer... From there, we kind of came together, and now we’ve got a golf course.”

Which golf course do Jason Kelce and Bill Murray own?

Kelce didn’t name the course directly, but thanks to Tom Coyne’s social media posts, we know it’s Sullivan County Golf Club in Liberty, NY.

Originally opened in 1925, the “Golden Age 9-holer” underwent a major renovation in 2024. According to the club’s website, the refreshed layout includes two new par-threes with stunning views, a new par-five with a dramatic mountain reveal, and brand-new driving range and putting course

This Catskills course is shaping up to be a hidden gem - with some very famous names behind it.
